QUESTION

What can we do about my boyfriend's expungement?

Asked on Oct 15th, 2012 on Expungements - Michigan
More details to this question:
My boyfriend went through the process of filing out an application for an out of town expungement and we are down to the last step. We received responses back from both the Michigan state police and the attorney general’s office. The response from the attorney general’s office was not good, they requested the judge deny the application due to more than one charge, but the application does not state in it that he can only have one charge to be eligible. What can we do from here?

NOTHING. He cannot get the expungement.

Not much. The law is very clear that more than one conviction can not expunge any. Unless he fits within the new minor crime exception (up to two minor offenses committed while under 21 years if age). If not this exception, he just doesn't fit the requirements.
