You should retain a good criminal lawyer to handle the case. He is eligible for a Youthful Offender and will probably not have a criminal record if you get a good attorney. Otherwise he will have a felony that will ruin any chance of him getting a decent job.

Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. I strongly suggest that you contact an experienced criminal law attorney for a face-to-face consultation and give him/her all of the facts surrounding your son's case. He/she would then be in a better position to analyze his case and advise you of his options

Hire the best criminal attorney that you can afford. Your son should not be in court unrepresented. Even if he and you cannot afford an attorney, the state will appoint one for him. However, in life you typically get what you pay for so if you can afford a good private attorney by all means get one.

Not much you can do. Sounds like he got caught. He is probably looking at some jail/prison time, especially if he had any kind of weapon on him.

Hire an aggressive criminal defense attorney in your area to represent your son. That is the best thing you can do for him, but it will not be cheap. Robbery is a very serious charge as is burglary.

You should get him a lawyer.? There maybe many reasons why he had the stuff from the idea that he was part of the crime to innocent reasons. If he is definitely guilty he needs a lawyer to avoid the system from stomping him flat and working out some kind of deal so that if he has problems they get addressed. If he is innocent then he needs a lawyer to take the matter to trial.

In SC, it depends on several things. First, is he in jail based on the charges or has he been convicted of the charges? Without even knowing this initial question, it is impossible to advise you on this matter. You should consult with a local attorney in regards to this matter.

Your son should be represented by an attorney. If he, or you, cannot afford to hire one, he should ask the court to appoint one for him.
