What do I do and what happens if I am charged with third degree assault?

I was released on $50 desk appearance ticket. I spent three hours in jail. I want to start the process of charging her anything possible. It has been a ten year neighbor dispute. She signed papers in the police station because she is not creditable. Thanks so much.
