I made a police report over the phone today. I had money stolen by a hotel employee. The cop is not saying I lied about it though. He called the casino. They are saying they did not see on the cameras me handing her the money. I have known for a fact that I gave her the 50 deposit you can't stay without it. My boyfriend was also there and saw the whole thing. The cop is stating that he went and saw the footage himself (in fifteen minutes he got there, watched it and called me back once he returned). I don't think so. But is also saying I need to be in court Monday for filing false police report. I'm so confused because I was stolen from. Nothing is happening so now I'm out money and facing charges myself. I'm very confused. How did he get evidence in that short time? I think he called, got the casinos side of the story (they pay his salary the casino is the only thing in this small town). I don't know. Can they do that all over the phone? This all happened in one short 45 minute span. I'm so confused to how I lied. I know the women took it. I know I gave it to her and feel as they are covering something up here and suggestion. The guy told me when to be at court. I got no paper.
You have to be served with a summons to appear in court. An attorney can confirm whether charges have been filed against you, and you should consult one.
