What do I do if I was charged with paraphernalia and my friend was charged with marijuana and open alcohol in a parked vehicle?

I was with my friend at a state recreation park on 4th of July weekend and we were approached by park rangers. We got charged with possession of marijuana. We had a bag that my friend took the blame for and I had a grinder with some weed in it that I was charged for. We were given a ticket and told we would receive a court date in the mail. After this, we stopped smoking for 3 months, to be honest we didn't think it would come. Last weekend, we got some weed. We didn't finish what we had so we were finishing it last night and got arrested. I got a court date for October 19th. When I got home that night, I had gotten my court date for the first offense.
