QUESTION

What does TDC for an offender serving 40 years mean?

Asked on Feb 07th, 2016 on Criminal Law - Texas
More details to this question:
I'm a victim of aggravated assault with weapon. My offender was sentenced to 40 years in TDC. It’s been almost 2 years since the incident, and I of course still fear for what the future might await for him or for my children and I. Is he qualified for parole? Can I stop him from getting parole? Will it be day by day, or will his good conduct give him an earlier release? Any more details I would really appreciate it.
