More details to this question:
I let my friend drive my rental car home which is 2 hrs from me. He was supposed to come right back. I now have not heard from him in 2 days an his phone is turned off due to no minutes left it sounds like. I think he is in trouble like arrested but I look online for him n do not see a mugshot of him in the county he lives in. He is on parole also. The car was due back yesterday. It's a weekend so if he is in jail he might need to wait till Monday to see judge. I don't know what to do and I don't know what kind of trouble I am looking into but I'm scared to death I've been in trouble like this before. I know it was my choice to let him use the car which he was on the contract that I signed. Please help I'm scared to death!
Report it to the rental company and file a police report for a missing car unless If you have any involvement in this which may be criminal. If so, peak with a lawyer first before doing anything. If you are not involved in some sort of crime, you should report this as you could look like you are involved by waiting too long. Plus, I am sure your rental contract has some language in it which deals with your duty to report the car if stolen.
