What happens if there is new evidence concerning my appeal?

More details to this question:
I took my case to trial and was found guilty.. so i appealed it and lost. But recently i was able to obtain a signed and notarized confession from the girl responsible for my charge. What can happen now.. i am still out on appeal bond but i have a hearing coming up . Will they still send me to prison in lieu of this new evidence?

The newly discovered evidence is critical in getting a new trial on appeal. Your appellate lawyer should be able to modify the appellate filing to include the new information or file an out of time appeal if necessary. Ask your attorney about filing ASAP so the incarceration will not start. It seems that the mandate must have been received from the appeal and that will start the incarceration.
