Asked on Feb 27th, 2013 on Expungements - Texas
More details to this question:
I was recently caught smoking weed with some friends in a car, when we approached by the cops I did not see them and I had a jar of weed in my hands (Less than half an ounce). They have let me go after all the processing and are sending me papers, how much will the fines be? What do I have to do to get it off my record? Thanks.

That all depends on what court is handling your case and which judge has been assigned to it. Without that information, I cannot answer your question.

Get an attorney, hope for deferment and, in the future, stop being stupid. A drug records can ruin your prospects. Is the risk worth it?

First things first. If you are under 17, then you are a juvenile and your parents will have to hire you a lawyer. Your lawyer will need to try to get the case dismissed, or get you a pretrial diversion to make you eligible to expunge your record in the future. If you pay a fine, it will be on your record permanently and your driver's license will be suspended.
