QUESTION

What is the best I can do?

Asked on Jan 01st, 2013 on Criminal Law - Michigan
More details to this question:
I'm 26 I do have a felony record but almost eight years old. Yesterday I was caught stealing fusion razors from Wal-Mart est. price 45.00. Three years ago I was with a friend at a Florida walmart that was caught stealing they asked me if I knew he was stealing I said yes so they gave us a warning took our pictures and said not to come back. Since they said I was in there system they said I won't be arrested but to expect a letter in the mail for a court date for trespassing and retail fraud. The sad thing is I had the money to pay for the merchandise! I am so stupid I have a good job a new car and a baby on the way and I do this crap. This is what being cheap gets me please just give me some opinions on what may or may not happen. I'm hoping just court fines and other fines.

Well you need to get a lawyer and see what can be worked out. Do not plead guilty off the bat since you lose all bargaining power that way.

I wouldn't be too sure. Jail is certainly a possibility with some judges. Get a local attorney on board ASAP.
