More details to this question:
My son recently got arrested for domestic assault due to an argument with his older sister. He is 18, never been in trouble before, and the situation was blown out of proportion to where it truly could have been considered self-defense. The physical nature of it was just a push, but the police wrote it up as he struck her. He pleaded guilty, got a year probation and 2 days community service. They said if all went well, it would be dismissed. His concern is it will probably still be on his record for future employers to see.
There will be a waiting period, probably two years, that doesn't start until after probation is finished. He needs to remain absolutely law abiding. Then he will have a good shot at achieving an expungement if he gets help from a good lawyer and if his sister supports it.
