Asked on Jun 06th, 2017 on Criminal Law - Michigan
More details to this question:
He robbed 2 banks by passing a note. He has been to prison before over 15 years ago and has some PTSD from that experience. He never really recovered from it or was able to find gainful employment, and credits that as why he snapped and robbed the banks. Are there any mental health options or programs available to him?

Assuming this is a State case and not a federal case, Michigan Circuit Court judges are required to consider the Michigan Sentencing guidelines when sentencing a convicted individual. The court will consider prior record variables and the offense variables and the appropriate grid. In addition arguments can be made for extenuating circumstances.
