QUESTION

What options do I legally have?

Asked on Jun 05th, 2017 on Traffic Violations - Ohio
More details to this question:
I was given a ticket for speeding 89 in a 60. My ticket says personal appearance required no and on the back of it it says marked waiverable through the traffic violations bureau . The officer even told me I didn't have to go to court but if I wanted to fight it there was a scheduled court date I could attend . When I called to make the payment they told me I was required to go to court . I'm wondering if there's anyway to fight this since my ticket says no court appearance required. If I wouldn't have called and just sent the ticket in with the check would they have written a warrant even though I didn't know I have to go to court ?

Yes, they likely would have issued a warrant. Also, provided that your record is somewhat clear in terms of violations and points, this Speeding ticket will likely effect your insurance on a monthly bases. You should contact an attorney, even if to just chat about the options and costs associated with this matter.    Best,   Nicholas Froning
