QUESTION

What should I do about a criminal mischief charge while drunk?

Asked on Feb 13th, 2016 on Criminal Law - Pennsylvania
More details to this question:
The other night I was drunk to the point that I was somewhat blacked out and was arrested for criminal mischief under the allegation that I had kicked a door and damaged it. This isn't my first time getting in trouble. I had an underage that was expunged a few years ago and a public drunkenness conviction this past summer. I'm currently a first year law student and am scared about my future and what this charge might mean for me. I'm worried that these stupid mistakes that I've made while drinking will end up haunting me for the rest of my life. What should I do? Will this prevent me from ever pursuing my goals?

I would hire a criminal defense lawyer to guide you on how to somehow get the charge dismissed. If you were my client, I would have you start alcohol counseling before the hearing.
