More details to this question:
What should I do after being charged with forgery? I have only ever been charged with traffic tickets, nothing major. Also, my identity has been stolen before which may have something to do with this, although I do not have proof.

Forgery is a crime of moral turpitude, and if convicted you can kiss your career aspirations goodbye. Hire a lawyer before you get duped into a plea you will regret for life.

It is clear that you believe you may have a defense, and therefore you should be engaging a defense attorney as quickly as possible, and before speaking to any of the authorities or investigators.
