QUESTION

What should I do for a misdemeanor charge for reckless endangerment?

Asked on Dec 17th, 2012 on Criminal Law - Florida
More details to this question:
I am being charged with a domestic violence misdemeanor for reckless endangerment. This case originally started two years ago with CPS for my son and now after two years of not being able to prove anything in the case, they decided to get me with that. Before this case started two years ago, I was put on diversion for theft and I have been making payments and not getting in trouble sense but then finally after two years and getting my son taken away from me they charge me criminally with this. I have a job of which I'm doing very well with and don't get in trouble anymore. My public defender wonโ€™t return my calls. I am being left high and dry and I donโ€™t know what to do for if I go to jail Iโ€™ll lose my job and my place. Thank you for any help.

Your question requires an attorney consultation. It is not a simple question that can be answered on this type of forum. There are many factors that would need to be considered and evaluated. If your public defender is not returning your calls, you need to hire a private attorney who will.

Since you have an attorney you will have to go through him/her in order to work on this case OR hire a private attorney.

If you are dissatisfied with your (overworked, understaffed and underpaid) public defender, you can hire private counsel, who can devote more time to your case.
