QUESTION

What should I do/plead in court tomorrow?

Asked on Apr 05th, 2012 on DUI/DWI - Illinois
More details to this question:
A few weeks ago, while I was in a partial hospitalization program, I became very suicidal and drank heavily. I`m 19. My friends called 911 when I began to hurt myself. I don`t remember any of it, but I was taken to the ER and kept for the night. While at the hospital, suicidal with a blood alcohol level of over .3, I was written an underage drinking ticket. I feel that this is something that should be essentially thrown out, considering the circumstances. Tomorrow`s my court date; what should I expect/plead?

Although your court date has passed, I certainly hope that you were represented by counsel. There are a number of different issues presented by your question, including mental health, substance use as well as the underage drinking ticket. Different Illinois jurisdictions may have their own way to handle these issues.   If the case is still pending, and you have not contacted a lawyer, please do so as soon as possible. Lori G.
