What will happen at a DIU arraignment hearing?

Asked on Sep 19th, 2017 on DUI/DWI - California
More details to this question:
the charge was VC23152 (a) & (b), now they are VC23153 (a) & (b).at the time of the accident there were no injuries reported, in fact the driver of the other car and his girlfriend were in a hurry to leave to leave the scene because it wasn't much damage to their car the taillight was broken. I drank the night before and had breakfast just before getting on the road. With a few hours of sleep. the officer said he could smell alcohol on my clothes. I passed the sobriety test and didn't do a breathe test until I was at the station with chewing gum in my mouth.

At your arraignment you will be asked to enter a plea to the charges and the court will set your matter for trial. It's possible that the DA will offer you a settlment. If this is your first DUI you could be facing a 10-30 day jail sentence. If you are able, you should hire an attorney to appear on your behalf. If you hire an attorney you will not have to attend court. At best, call around to discuss your options.
