QUESTION

What will happen to me if someone got a DUI while driving my car?

Asked on Oct 16th, 2014 on DUI/DWI - Michigan
More details to this question:
We were at a party, and I let my friend drive my vehicle, because I had been drinking. We were about to enter the driveway when my friend hit another person who was also at the party, he was standing on the road moving a branch. My friend got out to see if he was okay, and he said he was then left. A few hours later the police showed up at the house where the party was taking place and questioned us about it, the guy who got hit said it was intentional, he's trying to say we put the branch there so he would have to get out of the car and move it, but that is completely untrue, the police seemed to believe us, but the police did see my friend driving, and he was on probation and he got a DUI and I got a MIP. I plan on pleading guilty and paying the fines but I'm worried about what's going to happen to me, even though I wasn't driving and the guy who got hit was also drunk and supplying the alcohol, and he said he plans on suing and it was my vehicle. I also don't have insurance on the vehicle. I'm 19 and my friend's 17, the person who was hit was over 21.
