QUESTION

What will my conviction be for driving while suspended license in NJ?

Asked on Jul 25th, 2014 on Traffic Violations - New Jersey
More details to this question:
In April, I was pulled over and got ticketed for driving while suspended, but in court was charged with driving while expired and charged $80. Last month, I was hit by a police car, and got ticketed for driving while suspended. I was told at my first court date that I am looking at a fine and 10 days in jail. I have court again 7/30 with no lawyer. I am curious if you think I will be charged for the 3rd offense (fine plus 10 days in jail) or the second offense (fine plus 5 days in jail) since I had been charged with driving while expired in April?

these are serious charges which carry jail time and mandatory loss of license. i would hire an attorney. i would get your 'driver's abstract'.  i would 'fix' the suspensions before i appeared in court. please call if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600
