If there was an accident and you were taken to the hospital, the prosecutors' office will have to get a grand jury subpoena for the blood. It will take as long as they need because they have other cases to work on, too. The test itself does not take that long. How you will be "told" is that you may receive a letter or the cops will show up at your door. You should contact a bonding company now to arrange for bond. They can be checking daily for warrants for you. You should also go ahead and talk with a lawyer.
