Whose insurance is impacted if I got a DUI while driving a friend's car?

Does the insurance rate go up for the driver or the owner of the vehicle even though they weren't involved?

It should not affect your friend's insurance so long as there was no accident or damage that results in a claim to your friend's insurance company. Your rates will likely go up once something goes on your driving record.

If convicted of a DUI or if your license is suspended administratively by the DOL, the driver will be required to provide proof of financial responsibility (SR-22) for a period of 3 years. A convicted driver will also have to install an ignition interlock device (IID) in any vehicle he/she intends to operate for at least 1 year if convicted of DUI.
