QUESTION

Why do I still not have a court date when I was told I'd get one?

More details to this question:
I wasn't arrested, was read Miranda rights, and my mom signed ticket. I haven't got a court date in 3 weeks, I was told that night that I'd get one in the mail. Does it take longer? I called a week ago to see why I haven't got anything in the mail after 3 weeks. They said I wasn't even in the computers YET but will be sending something? I need answers and can't find any about this. My friend got their court date but not me. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time, I've never been in trouble before. I wasn't locked up, just read my rights to, and I was let go with parent sign release. I really need answers, because obviously I have none. This is my first offense an am a juvenile.

Sometimes the wheels of justice turn very slowly. It could be several weeks before you get a court date. The fact that you are a juvenile could slow things down even more. Don't panic. Since you are a juvenile and it is your first offense, you are probably just looking at probation.
