Will a first offense for armed robbery get jail time or house arrest?

Someone i know got arrested for armed robbery with a possession with a weapon he is 18. He said they gave the wrong person he wasn’t there . He is still in high school. And never gotten in trouble. He gets good grade, play sports and wants to go to the national guard. He had a depressing past life but never got in trouble with the law.
