More details to this question:
I was arrested when I was 14 for petty theft, I was taking a fishing lure from bass shop, and now I am 19 and I was just wondering what happens to that petty theft incident? Will i t show up on a background check? I'm pretty sure I remember being told that it would not but I would like some professional opinions. Thanks

Typically a juvenile record will not appear on a background check. Any adult actions or any actions treated as non juvenile will appear in a background check. If you apply for a job with security clearance then they may ask you about juvenile issues or request disclosure.
