I have to do community service as part of a DUI resolution. I have to go to the courthouse to receive a community service assignment, but I am late for starting this process. Will I be arrested on the spot at the assignment meeting?
It depends on the policies regarding this program, these are set by the county department of corrections. I have never had a client arrested on the spot for failing to enroll in the community service in a timely fashion. You should consult your lawyer regarding the policies in your county.
Depends. You may already have a warrant out for your arrest. Which is why you should hire a lawyer to go to court to get you an extension. A lawyer can do this without you present, so it is less risky for you.
You should go to court and ask for an extension. It's better than getting picked up on the warrant that is out for you and asking for an extension while you are in custody.
Not unless a motion to revoke probation has been filed. You better get down there immediately and get caught up immediately to lessen the chance they file a motion to revoke on you.
