Will I go to jail for petty theft charge

I have a petty theft charge what will happen if I plead not guilty . I was arrested with some friends they didn’t tell me what I was being arrested for I found out what I was going to court for when I looked at the ticket was a very drunk night on a night out I didn’t have anything on me , but they did say there was a video . But I also didn’t have nothing on me when they searched me .
