I was pulled over and arrested for DUI. There was no accident and no property was damaged. I was taken to jail, given a blood test, and after I was considered sober enough I was allowed to leave. When they gave me back my personal belongings they also gave me back my license, which I was surprised they did. This is my first DUI. I have an incredibly clean driving record (no tickets of any kind, moving or otherwise), and my first court date is finally coming around. If convicted will my license still be suspended regardless or is the fact that I immediately got my license back after arrest a good sign that I will have normal driving privileges?
Your license can be suspended either as a result of an administrative action at the DMV (if the blood results come back at .08 or above) or as a result of the outcome of the criminal case. So the short answer is yes, you are still facing a possible suspension.
