Will my medical problems come into play in a DUI case?

More details to this question:
I was arrest on 4-18-15 for DUI however I was suffering for diabetic complication and was feeling quite dizzy. I was placed under arrest. As the officer said, he smelled alcohol. I refused to take a breathalyzer test.
