Will these charges be dismissed by the dea?

More details to this question:
caught with a firearm in vehicle , it wasn't mine . the persons who it was is going to confess and give a written statement , i do have a criminal background. will i be found guilty even with a confession.

From a legal standpoint, anyone in the car who could reach the gun can be charged and convicted with possession. That being said, from a legal standpoint, if someone confesses to the possession, it's likely the charges against any others in the car will be withdrawn.
