QUESTION

Will they be able to extend probation forever if I am never able to complete paying this off?

More details to this question:
I am on probation for a misdemeanor which I am making regular monthly payments toward restitution. Probation is set to expire but I have not made much progress toward paying off restitution. I've barely been able to keep up with the payments. Now they want to extend probation. I have become disabled since and unable to work full time.

The judge will extend probation for awhile. However, at some point the judge will most likely send the unpaid fines and restitution to the State Office of Debt Collection and close the case unsatisfactorily.
