QUESTION

Would the process to get my license back be the same as in another state?

Asked on Apr 06th, 2017 on DUI/DWI - Michigan
More details to this question:
My driver’s license has been revoked for quite a few years. I am not eligible for a hearing until end of 2019. I have been sober for 2 years and attend AA an average of 10 times a week. I have been wanting to move to another state for work purposes.

If you are revoked in Michigan and not eligible for a restoration hearing until 2019, you are not driving legally in any state until 2019. Whatever state you move to will not (should not) license you until you first remove the revocation in Michigan, so whether you move from Michigan or not, you are going to have to clear up Michigan in 2019 before any state will license you to drive.

You would have to ask an attorney in the state you move to but most likely they will recognize what Michigan has ordered.
