More details to this question:
I am an international student studying for a business management degree in florida. On january 28th 2013 i was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The accident was very slow moving i was doing around 15mph the other car was doing i can only assume 30mph as this is the speed limit, there were no injuries during the incident, all parties walked away fine. Initially i was pursued by an attorney representing the other party, i informed him i was an international student with no income and no assets, he said he had no interest in suing me. Now a year later progressive insurance are suing me for $20,000 in injuries to the other party, once again i am an international student, i have no income and no assets. What is my course of action? Your help is much appreciated.

You will need to hire an attorney at your expense to address this issue if you were not insured for the accident. If you were insured, you need to report this to the insurance company so they can address the issue and hire a you an attorney. If you are here on student VISA you should check to see what impact not paying for damages from an accident you caused may have on your ability to remain in the US with an immigration lawyer also.
