Can a creditor garnish my wages after a repossession

More details to this question:
I have attempted to voluntarily surrender a vehicle. The creditor is telling me that they will garnish my wages for the balance regardless of surrender. Can they do this ?

Yes they can but only after they sue you for the deficiency and if they get a judgment.
