QUESTION

Can a debt collector continue to charge interest on a garnishment that has been paid?

Asked on Jan 15th, 2014 on Collections - Florida
More details to this question:
I have a judgment against me and the collector was able to garnish my wages for the last 3 yrs. I was told that by Jan 2014 it would be completed ( after making payment arrangements). Now the collector has sent a letter to my employer advising I am responsible for the post judgment interest. Since making the payment arrangments how do I know that they won't continue to charge interest since they have already received twice the amount of what the collection originally was.

Its a mathmatical calculation. You just have to add up whatis owed for judgment amount at stated interest and compare to what you've paid....either its all paid or its not with X dollars owed.
