Can i be sued for an old credit card after 7 years and its already off my credit report?

More details to this question:
An old credit card that I wasn't able to pay off at the time sold my debt to a collection agency and now I'm being sued in a couple of days. The debt is over 7 years old and is no longer on my credit report. Can I still be sued for this? If not what do I say or do when I go to court?
