QUESTION

Can I collect on a loan that has no contract?

Asked on Jul 23rd, 2014 on Debtor and Creditor - Florida
More details to this question:
I paid 2 car loans in the amount of $22,198.00 for a friend in financial difficulty. She paid me $300.00 per month for a period of almost 2 years. After that she moved away and started paying me only $50.00 per month and when I tried calling her, she never took my calls. She paid the $50.00 per month during 7 years and then stopped about 18 month ago. I have copies of the cancel checks I paid directly to the bank for her car loans. Since I have no contract and she doesn't take my calls, how can I collect what she still owes me?

You are probably stuck for a variety of reasons. You can try to file a suit against her for what remains to be paid, but I suspect you would be wasting your time. If you have other questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office at 1-800-922-6442 for a FREE consultation.
