QUESTION

Can I sue a collection company for making an Unauthorized withdrawal?

Asked on Aug 10th, 2014 on Collections - Florida
More details to this question:
A collection company emailed me in writing saying they are going to withdraw $50.00 out of my account. I noticed they withdrew a total amount of $300.00. I called them and they kept giving me the run around. I canceled my card and they told me they cannot issue me a check and that they can only reimburse me through my old card. Is there any way I can get this money back?

Something is missing here, as this has all the hallmarks of a "fake collection" scam and that you gave them access to your account. Whatever you do, do notgive them the new bank account info unless you are willing to deal with what may be a scam or ID theft issue.
