More details to this question:
My car was repossessed by the lending institution of the car loan on 3/3/2018. I paid the amount owed on 3/4/2018. I paid the car lending institution on 3/5/2018 around 4pm because they are open on Sundays at 4pm. On 3/6/2018 around 8 am I confirmed that the car lending institution received the payment. I was told by the car lending institution that once they verified the payment owed by me was actually made, the towing company was notified to hold the vehicle and not transported to the auction; and the towing company confirmed my vehicle was on their lot. Unfortunately, when I went to pick it up I was told my car was transported to an auction site. As of today, I have been getting the run around as to the location of my car. I believe this is theft and I am looking for legal advice. Thank you!

You will likely need to hire a lawyer, at soime expense, to sort this out. Generally paying the past due amout AFTER repo does not get your carback - you will have to pay repo fees and other charges and sometimes the whole loan.
