Citibank is trying to collect false charges about a credit card

More details to this question:
The credit card has been closed since April 16,2017.I keep getting letters stating that I owe for membership this account has been closed and I destroyed the credit card.Citibank has tried twice to collect by collection agency and debt collector.I am not going to pay them for an account that they have already closed.

Closed does nto mean that there is a ZERO balance. You need to review this account because if it was not properly closed or closed with an outstaning balance, you are hurting your credit or risking a lawsuit unnecessarily.
