More details to this question:
Debt Satisfied - How do I get the lien released. Hi, I had a debt lien on my house. After negotiation, we agreed on a settlement which I satisfied this week. How do I get a discharge of lien or lien release. Can I do it myself to expedite it to have a clean title as I am going through a refinancing process? If yes, how? Or is the only option I have is to wait for the debtor to submit a lien release to the court? I have all the agreements in writing via email and have copies of the check submitted to the debtor as agreed. Please advise.

The details of such arrangements are the exact reasons why its so crucial to hire lawyers. The how you get a lien released is dependant on what the agreement was, but this is generally provided and recorded by the creditor.
