QUESTION

Filing a small Claim

Asked on Jul 21st, 2017 on Collections - New York
More details to this question:
I have a client that has not paid their invoices in over 8 months. I am a photoretouching studio and my client is a bridal/apparal designer. I have a relationship with them and they had always paid me in the past. I have saved all email documentation of our conversations and the job descriptions etc...I am owed over 11,000$. I have never filed a small claim. Is it logical to file a small claim before a year has passed to retrieve funds?

$11,000 is way over small claims.  You will need a lawyer, and you will file in the next level of court.  Which court depends upon where you are, which you did not say.  If you are not getting paid, you should sue.  Do nothing, and you get nothing.
