Asked on Oct 12th, 2017 on Debtor and Creditor - Florida
More details to this question:
Bought sofa 90 days same as cash 3/2015. Had just bought house. Acceptance Now did not explain "rent to own" takes over if not fully paid in 90 days. Long story short I have paid $3500 for a $1500 sofa. The monthly payments are excessive and I stopped paying several months ago they say I owe $1100. I refuse to pay any more money tg these extortionists!!!!! This company is terrible and business practices borderline unethical.

You will need to return the furniture if you refuse to finish out the rent to own contract you signed. Otherwise you might find yourself arrested and prosecuted for theft per Fla. Stat. 812.155. Not sure what you were expecting about 90 days same as cash, since it seems you also didn't pay for the furniture fully inside the 90 days either, but for the future as a consumer you need to make sure you read and fully understand the transactions you are getting into.
