I have a student loan initally was $12,500. Paid approx. 20,000 with personal; payments and garnishee,and bal.still over 50,000 and now I am on disability and haven''t worked since 2009 and they have started taking 15% from my disability payment monthly. I need some serious relief from this debt. I got our of school in 1987 and am 60 yrs. old now.

Your only option is the William Ford Program, which you can see at the Department of Education website. You have to pay your disposable income for 20 years as determined by the website, and then the balance is written off.
