QUESTION

How can I modify a consumer debt collection judgement?

Asked on Dec 14th, 2021 on Collections - Connecticut
More details to this question:
A collection law firm won a judgment for the debt buyer of a charged off credit card. I've been paying for approximately 1 year despite being paid off and having a sole income source from unemployment compensation which has now expired. I'd like to request some postponement, if possible, until I become gainfully employed. Is this scenario possible? If so, how?

You can contact the creditor and try to get payments deferred but make sure you get something in writing but your better move would be to speak with a Bankruptcy/ Debt attorney and explore your other options for becoming debt free.  Bankruptcy is my chief focus and I would be happy to speak with you. 203.870.6700.

Information provided doesn't create an attorney/client privilege nor constitute an offer of services and is only general responses to hypotheticals
