I was given a judement for a bill that I dispute. I wasn't notified in time to appear in court. My wages are being garnished and I now do not get enough pay to pay bills or food.

If a judgment was already entered against you, you will have to investigate whether you have grounds to vacate the judgment and defend against the claim. Also, there are limits to garnishments in Wisconsin. You should have received papers prior to the garnishment taking effect that ask for certain information which, in turn, would alert the parties and the court to any exemptions or limitations on a garnishment action. You may be well served to meet with an attorney to discuss this matter and find out what options you have.
