More details to this question:
Mr. Blanchard worked for me for a month. Then he billed me and I paid him. I spend a lot of time teaching him and correcting his work and showed him how better to use Photoshop, suggested he buy new software if he wanted to work as quickly as I did, which he then did. I gifted him a new larger monitor and a copy of a new version of Photoshop, and lent him a camera lens. He knew the lens was only on lone I made that very clear. We then each photographed 2 condos but his work was so poor it was almost unusable. I spent hours correcting it. I emailed him on 1/16 after, asking for the lens be returned. He wants payment for the condo but has not billed me or will say how much he wants. He has not spoken or called and is well aware his work on that job was very poor. I want my lens back but it is hard when the other side will not communicate.

Unfortunately, you made fatal mistake of gifting things and having verbal agreements intertwined with work. Unless the lens is worth the thousands of dollars that litigation will likely cost, it will be cheaper to buy new lens. The alternative is to hire a lawyer to write a demand letter BUT if he calls the bluff, and you dont take legal action, he will feelmore empowered to keep the lens.If you would like to discuss retaining an attorney to help up you, we do offer FREE in office consultations at 1-800-922-6442.
