QUESTION

How does a widow pay off second mortgage debt?

Asked on Feb 13th, 2014 on Debtor and Creditor - Florida
More details to this question:
Since my husband's death in 2007, we have been over $70,000 in debt due to a second mortgage that I have been unable to pay. Since I only have a part-time job and barely enough to cover the rest of the expenses I can only struggle to pay the interest. Is there any way I would be able to reduce the amount of debt a considerable amount?

Not likely unless you negotiate some arrangement with the bank. You may need to get 2 part time jobs to make up the loss in revenue or possible contact bankruptcy lawyer.
