My exes father took me to small claims court 6+ years ago. He helped me buy a car and wanted it back. I surrendered the vehicle to him and he paid off the loan and sued me for 7500. He won. I never paid him anything. About a month after he levied my bank account which had 5 dollars in it at the time. But that is all I ever heard about it. No wage garnishments, no more levies, no collections nothing. It isnt even on my credit report. He has never called me, emailed me, snail mailed me or anything. I have since relocated and it is just always on my mind. I dont know what to do with it. Or how to obtain information about it. How do I find out what is going on with this situation. And what can I do about it now?
I'm not sure what information you are seeking to obtain. You already stated he has a judgment against you. That's really the end of the story. The judgment is valid for 10 years and is renewable. Whether he continues to try and collect on it is up to him. Presumably he has recorded an abstract of the judgment so that if and when you ever obtain real estate in the county where he records it, he will have a lien against that property.
Beyond that, he has the judgment until it is paid off or settled.
