QUESTION

I need to know if I will be facing legal action

Asked on Aug 11th, 2023 on Debtor and Creditor - Michigan
More details to this question:
I was asked by someone who wanted to help me out financially. They apparently sent me $5000 through PayPal. I was not told I would have to purchase a bitcon of $100 to cover a fee. They told me it would be refunded and I would get the PayPal amount once I purchased the bitcon. I don't have the money for the bitcon and they are saying I will be arrested because the money was taken out of their account already and I stole from them. PayPal does not see the money in my account and it doesn't show it even as pending. The person told me I would be arrested and lose my job. Is this going to happen. This person is from Texas but is living in Germany temporarily for work.

Based on the information that you have provided, it is my opinion 99.99% that this person is lying to you and trying to scam you. I would end all contact with this person by blocking their emails and all other means of communication. If they do contact you I would inform them that you will contact law enforcement if they contact you again. It is my opinion that you have nothing to worry about. Enjoy your weekend.
